Bugs in my gauges!! Seriously!!

Sunday morning of Crankfest found us on Grenada on my Bay Pro 230 and in a cloud of some sort of insect not found in our part of KY Lake. They were so thick we couldn't breath for them and every inch of my boat was covered with them. The parts we walked on had to be pressure washed to get them off the floor. A couple of days later I realized I have a BUNCH of them INSIDE my tach and fuel gauge. It looks like I'm on my own here since my boat company says it isn't a warranty issue. I had no idea the gauges were not sealed, guess I know now.

Has anybody tried to get the bezel and glass off the front of a gauge like these? They are Faria gauges. I can't post a pic off my new phone due to the log on issue of my old system.

Take dash apart, go to back of gage. Remove the light bulb socket and use a shop vac should pull them out.

That would really bug me...rotfl

I'm with Cray. They probably found their way in from the backside of the gauges, so that would be the place to remove them from. Not sure how hard it is to get to the backside of your dash, but maybe getting a smaller diameter rubber or plastic hose/tube and taping it to the inside of your wet/dry vac hose....tape it up good to seal the sm hose/large hose connection.....then you can snake the sm hose up to the back of each gauge to suck 'em out. Maybe.
