That disco orange looks to be leaning toward a gold, may be a killer color :fish
Yes it is pretty close to gold. It does have really small gold flakes in it as well as a couple others. It's almost the same as Hot Perch powder paint, The difference being a slight shade difference and the Hot Perch has a extra small rainbow flake. It, the hot perch has worked well with gold tinsil body and chartreuse bucktail tail on cloudy days here in the local waters around Springfield, Mo.
James, a little tip I learned. On your disco colors, when heating the head up don’t heat them as long as you would for regular colors. Say if you heat for pink at a count of 8 and then do a disco color try it at a 5 count. You should have a little of the flake falling off when finished. I have found if heat to much it will have a tendency to melt and discolor the flake and dull the overall color. It’s one of those things you have to experiment with. But I found the cooler you get paint to stick the better it looks after baking.
Thank you Cray, I appreciate the info. I will have to try that out...
great colors
"But I found the cooler you get paint to stick the better it looks after baking." this applies for adding multiple colors with using brushes and the tapping technique.
Now that's a technique I haven't heard of, using brushes with powder paint. I'll have to try that...
Easy way to add multiple colors to a jig.
Heat the jig - add pp to the brush - hold the jig over the paint cup. Hold the brush over the heated jig and tap it until paint starts falling on the jig. Do it in layers for the different colors.
