A few after the rain this morning.
We had a couple of cells of rain early this morning and at 8 am was fishing dead calm waters with no ripple. Fish just wouldn’t hardly hit and only colors they would hit was anything pink and PICO’s Bone Orange. Changed colors constantly and that was the 2 hotties as had the wife with me for her first time to fish this year. Found them after 3 hrs of trolling cranks and all in one area, caught and released 40 keeping a dozen from 10” to 12” and when I cleaned them, everyone was a female loaded with eggs. Water temp 72, speed 1.8 to 2.0 mph, average depth of cranks, 8-10 ft deep criss crossing creek channel in one small area. Wind kicked up 2 to 3 ft whitecaps and quit at 12:30 as didn’t want to push it after having lingual hernia operation 17 days ago as still alittle sore. Good to get the wife out and she had a blast even tho she had to hand me one of her tennis shoes to get the trebles out of, and she also ended up with a small hole in her shoulder area of her tee shirt as she was not used to fishing with crankbaits. :Rofl
I was just glad to finally get out and spend alittle time on the water. Have a great safe weekend everybody!
