I’ve always fished from the bank and after the spawn was over I was done. Now I have a kayak and have a few more options. Where do I look for them after they are done spawning?

Depends on the water depth of the lake & how quickly the temps are rising. I typically back out & look for structure or ledges in 6-12 ft of water where they will stage as they head back out to deeper water. Some of the largest crappie will already be back in their summer haunts though...

Post spawn usually indicates that the crappie will be deeper, away from the spawning areas. "Away" means a lot of things. It could a foor or two deeper or 15' deeper, depending on the lake and it's structure. You might want to add a sonar to that yak as well. Experiment and enjoy your new kayak!
Yeah I have one my friend is giving me since he installed side image on his boat. Just haven’t had a chance to get it yet.

Check out SK's Crappie fishing adventures. He has tons of videos that are very informative. Helped me catch more fish!
Thanks for the link too bad I don’t know how to look for crappies and my lake don’t have a lot of lay down.
To OP, I always fish from bank too, and feel the same even told my wife a few days ago that my crappies time is done. Today was my last straw, I spent around 3 hours and only caught one small one. Time to go back to bass, I guess and will see you guys again in Fall.
Right after the spawn they go into a rest mode for a few days . Look out over first drop on brush near the bottom where they were prespawn in staging areas out from spawning banks/coves . :twocents:fish This is how I caught these on jigs today .
