What the trick to get tight wire keepers in a Do It 1/16-1/8 mold?

I started using a harder lead years back which helps. Done with 100% lead which is soft especially from eBay. I buy my lead from rotometal and get the 95% lead 5% antimony. It’s a harder lead. I never flux my lead either since getting this type of lead. Using a 20 lb pot and keep it full. Also I put the spout of the pot into the gate of each cavity when pouring. Doesn’t hurt to get a little powder paint on the bottom of the head where the wire keeper goes into it.
Ok makes sense but I'm lead poor from gathering for years but it's mix/match lead. I'll try inserting the spout. Wish me luck and thanks for the tip.
On smaller jigs, I usually paint the wire retainer as well as the head. This give a secure hold to the hook and especially strengthens 1/32oz heads. There really isn’t much lead to hold the wire. I am like DrNip, stronger lead helps too!

Yup I’ve painted the wire keeper that far too.
