Anyone interested in starting one up or joining one if it's started? There are several of us here who fish the Big G regularly, just thought it would be fun to get together every month or two to either fish or fellowship, or both.

I probably would just for the education on catching these critters
Sounds good to me, club part is fine. If we have tournaments, I hope we can have flexibility and not just every Friday and Saturday

I don't live there yet but fish the area several times a year and plan to move down there within the next few years. It would be cool to meet up with folks sometimes when I am down there. Actually heading down this coming Sat for a week so hopefully the weather turns a little warmer!! :fish
I haven’t fished Guntersville a whole lot, but I’d like that to change. A club and meet-ups sound good to me.

MAy be interested.....
So, does anyone want to volunteer to head this thing up? I’m spread out pretty thin
I'll give it a shot if no one else wants to.
That will be the first step, getting someone to be in charge. It can be time consuming and a lot of work.
Yall talking little tournaments or what would a club consist of?
I'd like to be involved. Between kids ball, 2 jobs, and church duties, I won't be much good in accomplishing tasks... but I can show up periodically and let yall teach me how to fish. The once every couple months eating get together sounds right up my alley.
I'm a member of middle tenn crappie club, just across the state line in tenn.we have had our club since 2009.we are now at @ 60 members.if you guys need any help feel free to check out our website, there are phone numbers of our officers who would be glad to answer any questions you might have.our website is middletennesseecrappieclub.com
Coach, my hair is thin too
well since I’m not going to be running it, I can’t say for sure. I’d like to get a group of us together so we could bounce ideas off each other. I’m sure it will end up being where there are some tournaments involved but I also know that several of the folks who have responded, including myself, are pretty new to crappie fishing. Initially I’d like to see it start off as simple as meeting up on the water and trying to learn from each other.
Why dont we do that. Pick a ramp, date and time and have a little tournament. Then hash things out after it's over. I can come up with some scales for a weigh in.
Aight, sounds like a good time to me
We had a simple crankbait tournament here in ms one time that was fun.... entry fee was one new crankbait.....we put all the crankbaits in a bucket. Biggest crappie won all of them.

THAT is what I'd be interested in. I don't have any desire to fish in a tournament. The thought of crappie tournaments becoming like the bass tournaments where the simple fisherman has to wait to put his boat in and all the garbage that goes with that just turns my stomach. And I live here so I HAVE witnessed the crap that bass tournaments bring.
Brent, we could do that but I’d suggest having an informal meeting at a restaurant for dinner first. That way we could all get to know each other a little better first. I wouldn’t mind having a few informal tournaments a year but I don’t have time or the desire to fish one a month like most clubs do, but that’s just my opinion.
That sounds good to me furbaby. I'll look at my calendar tomorrow and look at some dates. We can pick a centrally located restaurant and talk about it all.
Fur I agree with you. I would come over and visit and maybe fish with you but not real interested in tournaments. I want to fish when I want to and quit when I want to. I knew what you were getting at when you brought this up and I also knew tournaments would be brought up shortly there after. I used to fish a lot of bass tournaments and it got to be like a job so I quit. I had much rather meet like we do at camp and fish and fellowship with each other. If I wanted to tournament fish I would Fish Crappie masters or ACT ..
I could put up a dedicated Message Board here on Crappie.com if'n y'all want? PM me for details.
I like the idea of just getting together and fellowship while doing some fishing, much like camp. Let me know what come up. Thanks Brad.
How would April 20th sound to everyone? I tried to push it out a little to maybe not conflict with anyone who's made plans already. I also tried to avoid weekends that were already having a tournament on gville and avoid weekends that crcc had their events. I'm game for anything, just trying to start somewhere.
That’s Easter weekend. I’ll be in town but it might conflict with some schedules??
I didnt know that. I'm sure it will conflict. I will look again.
I would be interested in a club
We started a club here in southern Tennessee about 9 years ago and there is a lot of knowledge that gets shared. But as someone said before, tournament every month turns into a job and hard feelings. I haven't fished the G much but want to learn it. I love to show people what little I know about crappie fishing. The camp and fish idea is something I like.
I'm at Ft Rucker but would try to make it over to some of these events as my schedule allows. I think it would be awesome.
I’d love to get together and make new friends and try and learn some things. But I have no way to fish a tournament and probably wouldn’t if I did. But that’s just me. Doesn’t mean the ones that want to couldn’t do them.
