Dove poacher
My bud who loves to sit this location on our little woodlot says the doves that come in droves to the feeder are always very nervous . Says they bolt when the wind blows a leaf or 2 .....
I said well bro I bet something is likely eating them , I have seen a few feathers laying around. And predators like to hunt where there is game and where there is food there is game.
This last week I noticed a dove poacher on camera …...:Rofl

Yes sir those hawks is ruff on them ! We have trouble with them doing that every year on a place that we fix up for the doves! You can tell by the actions of the dove when a hawk is close!
-
Yep they will eat them up

Hawks are pretty hard on the squirrels at feeders also.

We have a Falcon that takes a few birds from our yard in the middle of the city. The up side is he just about eliminated any problems we had with pigeons roasting on the house.

I got a Hawk that hangs around the recycling center where I work and it get's it's share of everything that moves. We had a one legged crow that we fed for a while and now it has disappeared. Now, I worry about the cat that took up there!

It isn't just hawks that will eat your "pets" herons will eat your ducklings.

Hawks have to eat too, doves are fat and slow on the ground, but put a dove out in front of my scattergun and I swear they can fly 75mph.

I bet that one had a squirrel or rat or rabbit ...I dont think it's actually a birder type hawk ....
But it's got them doves jumpy and I do have a few smaller fast hawks in the area
