Finally caught my first crappie, 14 inches! Was so excited, but when i got home and cut it open... PARASITES! Is this normal?? There were A LOT. Hoping it was a one time deal. See a many of them ! Just always have cut out the red spot if in the meat! And eat em!

From what I see here, I'd say in 1/3-1/2 of them would be normal. Like Slabprowler said, if there are red spots in the fillets, it's one of the worms embedded in the muscle. Dig that red spot out. Once you get past the thoughts of it, there's nothing else to worry about.Quote:
