Thanks for posting that Rich, which brings me to a point about why I like this forum.
You don't see any negative remarks when someone posts things like that on this forum, unlike that other forum.....I see we have a heckler. Now I remember why I go there very little. Like I tell my niece and nephew.....don't like what I put on my FB page?.....keep scrolling!
Today is a day I knew was coming, I need to take my faithful dog on his last journey. It's hard being a pet owner at this point in their lives. Hunter (Wilbur) just can't control his bowels and can barely stand up. I need to help him up the stairs, his mind says he can, but the old worn out body just can't. I should have done this earlier but I just couldn't being the holidays were here.
I take comfort that we gave him a very comfortable place to live and loved him every day.....he had a good life. Jerry offered to do this task for me, but it is my responsibiity to be by Wilburs side to the end as a pet owner.
I don't mean to be a downer, it's just that you all are like family to us and I wanted to let you know.
Tears will be shed, but I know this is the thing that must be done......thanks for letting me ramble.
It's a hard thing to face Steve. You know it's the right thing, but still hard to do. Stand strong, mourn your loss, it's your right.

I'm glad I got to play with ole wilber (hunter) one last time. I understand the feeling my friend. We are getting close as well. I have some fresh cut cherry boards if you would like to make a box for him.
As for the negative comments: In todays world, many of the youth feel that their opinion is needed. All of them are simply fishing for "likes". There are people that spend countless hours feeling the need to type massive dissertations about all the things they hated about something. You are often left to wonder if they have any time left with their day to enjoy something. If I felt the need to post a negative comment everytime I read or watched something I didn't like, I would never have any time for the rest of my day. Unfortunately, because of these youth, many of the older generations are now feeling the same way. The need to add their 2 cents to everything. As if to say "if they can do it, so can I". Sadly, these people are looking for a reaction. They get their kicks not in what they say but the reactions they get from others. This is what they are looking for. Unfortunately, many people have yet to figure this out and will post comments simply adding fuel to the fire. They don't get the fact that "THIS" is what they are looking for.
I am a whitty individual. I can come up with a million different responses to peoples comments that would ultimately gain me "likes". Instead, I chose to deal with it the easy way and shut it down before it starts. You saw how I did that!
My condolances to you and Judy today. Let me know if there is anything you need help with.
Been there and done that & that still doesn't make it any easier. They truly are mans best friend.
Thanks guys, he’s in peace now. Veterinarian said his kidneys were about shot, makes sense why he went downhill so fast.

We need to get Steve one of those redneck chain wallets.
Remove the wallet, and connect it to that fillet knife, and then connect the other end to Steve.
If I remember correctly, when I was at Crappie Camp, Steve didn’t bring a fillet knife...........

Da Yoopers! I remember when they were all over the UP radio stations, our school always had a Christmas program, each grade did a skit using a song. The only skit I ever remember was a class did one to the song Rusty Chevrolet by Da Yoopers. Every deer camp played da turdy point buck and da second week of deer camp. I will say I can relate, my friend Bruce’s family camp was a lot like the second week of deer camp song.

Bruce is one of my best friends, he and I were dive partners on 2 county sheriff search and rescue dive teams. We have hunted, fished, got pie eyed, argued and laughed a lot over 40 some years....
If I ever get some of you UP there fishing, you’ll meet him, he has a beautiful place right on Garden Bay where we can fish out of.

sorry to hear about your dog ours is getting up there in years, going to be hard ...
I feel for ya.
Finally had my dentist appointment yesterday for a cracked molar to have a crown put on it. Had to wait till the new year for insurance reasons, so for about 4 months I could only chew on the other side of my mouth. Seems to be just what the molar needed, no more pain.
I see UP in Gods Country they got hit with 10” of snow and the power is out.....if there is one thing I don’t miss about living there is the snow and cold. My high school friend is plowing mountains of snow at his place and we were out soft water fishing.
Still not used to no friendly tap tap tap of Hunters tail on the floor in the morning to greet me.
Don’t forget the meet n greet if you haven’t already posted that you’re coming, Judy is making the reservations in a week or so.
That’s about all the nonsense I have for today.
