If you could only carry 1 lure for white bass jumps, what would it be? I am leaning toward a kastmaster spoon but still evaluating my choices.

No, Jackie ..... "Silver Buddy" is the actual brand name. They don't make them painted white anymore, though, so you'd have to paint one yourself.
They look like this :
https://www.crappie.com/crappie/imag...AASUVORK5CYII=
I've used them in several different colors, and the white ones have always outproduced the others ... even the "silver" ones.
I've also used Cotton Cordell's "Gay Blade", Reef Runner's "Cicada", and Heddon's "Sonar" ... all relatively similar blade baits ... and had good success with them.
The only "negative" things about the Silver Buddy lineup is : they no longer have a "white" one, and their price (vs similar blade baits).
And there ain't a thing wrong with the Kastmaster !! I've used them with decent success, as well, but do seem to produce more fish on the ones with the "tail feathers". :biggrin

I catch a whole lot of white bass on 2" and 3" white or smoke curl tail grubs.
I've had good luck with a Renosky Mirror Image shad.
Gay blade will do it!
Do you guys use those hard body baits for ice fishing or even in regular water? Ive
never seen a jig those in person
Little George.
White and black in line spinner with red feathers on the treble hook.
With the exception of the "red feathers" ... that perfectly describes the lure I used to catch White Bass during their annual spawning run in the riffles of the Dix River (the river dammed up to make Herrington Lake), back in the 50's & 60's. That lure was called a "Shyster".
Yeah, the Evans "Shyster" was the original one, and I've probably still got one tucked away in one of my MANY tackle boxes. The original had a O shaped line tie eye, and a few hours of casting it would have the line in my spincast reel looking like a bag of pretzels :biggrin
Even the late comer, the Rooster Tail, originally had the same O shaped tie eye (& was almost as bad about line twist) .... then they came out with a offset one that worked very well at keeping the bait's body stationary while the blade spun around. And you're right .... seems like everybody & their brothers are making an inline spinner (+/- fashioned after the Shyster).
I've got 2 go to White Bass lures:
#1 is a 1/6 oz white and red roostertail.
#2 is 1/8 oz little did his made by Kreme

It's a little fishie. Bass pro still sells them. I like the blue back best.

There is a party game called "Damn Autocorrect" in department stores. I wonder how frustrating it is [emoji848]

A little more on the underspins please.
I fish a lot of roadrunners, But, would like to give those a try.
I bought some blade baits, silver buddy style, removed the back treble and replaced it with split ring and a blade. I was hammering the white bass with them last summer.
It makes me sad to think about this topic. Western NC had an incredible white bass fishery 10 years ago before the White Perch invasion occurred. I haven't seen schooling White Bass in several years now.
Not my go to lure anymore but have caught a ton of breaking whites and spawners on a 1/4 once chrome roostertail. i allways say anything white or shiny for white bass.
I have a bunch of inline spinners that I have picked up in multi packs or inherited that are in colors I don't use. Typically I only use white and chrome or maybe black on a cloudy day. I a lot of the ones I don't use are wild colors which I would describe as rainbow. I was just wondering what you would use them for besides trout.
Throw those "wild colors" at the same times you'd throw white/chrome/black !! When White Bass are chasing Shad or busting them on the surface, they're looking to pick out a straggler or one separated from the school (after the initial busting of the school) ... and they're in a feeding frenzy (ie - competition with all the others in their school) so they're not quite as picky about "color". They're just looking for the telltale flash of a fleeing Shad, which your inline spinner blade already provides, and which the "wild color" may also reflect. :twocents
Ok guys. I made a choice good or bad. I heard you say white, white with blue, silver, etc.. I also heard a little touch of red at the end. I had some custom jigs made with white, blue, and a touch of red. Think they will catch white bass?

I like the touch or red at the end myself. I think it may increase hookups as that is the end that you want them to hit? Maybe it looks like gills? Lures are so unnatural looking to me I get confused :-)
Silverside .... I'm gonna go out on a limb and say "well, duh" :biggrin of course they'll catch White Bass (& probably several other types of "bass", Crappie, and several other species of fish that you get them in front of) :ThumbsUp
Thanks for helping me decide everyone!. Like I said earlier...this is a new species for me. I have only caught one but I was immediately taken in by it :highfive
ps: I see one of the new crappie jigs made it into the photo also. oops
chrome or white 2 in rattle trap, white road runner 1/16 oz jig.
For the jumps, I use two lures on the same rod with a 3-way swivel
On one swivel eye I tie a #12 pet spoon on about 10" of line
On the other swivel eye I tie a fat-free shad crankbait with about 18" of line
I can cast this rig a long ways (important for the jumps), and the crankbait gets it below the school down to the bigger fish. Not uncommon to catch 2 fish at a time. I also troll this rig to find the school if they aren't in the jumps, once found I can just cast to the school.
For vertical jigging, the 7/8 oz War Eagle Spoon in either white or silver is my favorite, they come with a great hook already on there right out of the package.
My favorite bait these days is a 2.75" Big Joshy swim bait in slush color. My go to used to be, and is still a favorite, is a Blue Fox Vibrex silver with white hair on the treble.
