Has anyone ever put led's light on the back of their boat trailer and hook them to the reverse wire on the truck so you can see after dark backing up?

I've never done it but there is no reason it wouldn't work.
I've done it to other trailers, but I haven't done it to mine yet. :dono
One suggestion is to put a toggle switch on it so you can turn them off when not needed. There are times when going in reverse that you do not want them on.
Great idea , and would be easier too [emoji106]

Wouldn't be hard if you already run a 7 pin trailer plug, most of those already have a pin for a reverse wire.
I've never had a need for it, the ramps around here generally have enough lights to load after dark.
I installed a 7 pin harness and two 7 bulb LED's on my boat trailer. I use them for backing down the ramp, into the garage day or night, and campsite at night. When I put the truck in reverse, they light up.
I mounted one LED on the last trailer cross brace to see behind the trailer. I mounted the 2nd LED light behind the a-frame on the trailer. This way I can see the trailer tires so I don't hit anything while backing up. They work great at night, especially at the campground.
works great.you can see if needed.
