Soaked but found success on Pomme de Terre this afternoon 12/13

Made it up to Pittsburg Landing this afternoon about 12:45. After sitting Atop The Boat ramp for a few minutes debating with myself on just how bad I wanted to catch fish or get soaked, my addiction won, and I backed the boat in. The rain was not terrible, it was off and on, varying in intensity most of the afternoon. Wind was calm, and water was a stained brown color 40° surface temp. I hit the first brush pile that I came across, and found fish suspended in 16 FOW, about 9 1/2 foot deep. I was using a 2.5 inch Crappie Kicker, Buster Brown color as well as chartreuse w/silver flake, by Fle-Fly fishing tackle. I used both a weedless 3/32oz jig head and a 1/16 oz big eye jig head in the presentation. The fish seem to prefer the lighter jighead today over the heavier one. The Buster Brown color seemed to be a little hotter today than the chartreuse w/silver flake, however both caught fish. I managed to pull 10 decent keeper crappie(10"-11"), and one respectable White bass off of that first pile, as well as whole bunch of short fish also. I spent three hours hovering over that brush pile before I gave up and moved on. Finally the water was starting to soak through my jacket and I decided to throw the towel in.
I didn't happen to get any photographs while I was out on the water due to all the rain and such, but here's a few pics of the fish in my patent pending "clean'em later well", and the tackle I used.

Nice job! I like the dedication. My "clean em later well" looks more like cooler full of ice [emoji23]

Well it started off to be a place to keep my leftover bait when I returned home from the lake, but I discovered after several late night returns from fishing that it worked marvelously well to keep other things alive until they could be dealt with. I told my wife it's kind of like one of those fresh lobster upickem tanks at a fancy restaurant, when you want some fresh fish...... Just grab the net and pick'em out.

Congrats on your catch. Rain is hard to fish in this time of year. Will chilled you to the bone if getting wet.

It's just a basic aquarium pump filter kit. Pick that particular one up from Walmart I believe for less than $20. You also need an air pump with an air stone to help oxygenate and turn over the water.

Congrats on the catching and I used to be that dedicated. Now I wait for better days or go to a heated dock.:ThumbsUp

Great job!!! Catching fish makes you forget about the rain.

Very nice report you did well for the conditions I myself might have turned around and left. O I cant say that I have fished in the rain too.
