Hey guys new member from East TN here. I'm looking for some tips on fishing Crappie this time of year. I've fished for them during spring but never any other time of the year. My primary fishing water is Watts Bar and any help is much appreciated.

Henry, normally I'd suggest posting questions about a specific lake in the state forum where the lake is located ... but, Watts Bar doesn't get a lot of press in the Tenn state forum. There are a few members that fish there from time to time, and I and my buds make trips to Watts Bar once or twice a year. We've had decent trips there, and we've had poor trips there for "numbers". I've never had a complaint about "size/health" of the fish.
It's a good lake to shoot docks, and in many instances (like for a total newbie to the lake) that's going to be 90% of the visible cover targets available. If you have high end electronics, you may want to spend a lot of your initial time on the lake just cruising around and marking any brushpiles you happen upon. But, in any event, don't try and cover the whole lake at one time. Take small areas and dissect them until familiar enough with what's available in that area, then move on to another.
We're coming down in a couple of weeks, to fish for a few days, and I will be posting a report (hopefully with pics :biggrin ).
Here's a link to an advanced search - key words "watts bar" ... user name "CrappiePappy" : https://www.crappie.com/crappie/sear...rchid=25101927 .... so you might find some noteworthy things in my reports from previous years trips. :dono
