You need to drop Bamboo in pretty deep water as they seem to standup pretty good on there own from the hollow spaces in the bamboo. You will also need to use quite a bit more weight when dropping them also as they are quite buoyant also. I dropped some in 19' water that has worked pretty good this summer. Good luck and remember when dropping habitat wear your PFD as the weight to sink habitat will take you to the bottom of a lake really fast.:twocents
Fish habitat "build it and they will come"
We have sunk bundles of boo in the past in shallow water laying down . :twocents

bamboo is the way to go,there is so many ways of displaying it.my wife and I dropped some last night,we used a 35 gallon plastic drum with 1" holes drilled all around at the top of the drum,we then inserted the boo thru the holes and when finished it covered 12' in diameter.it only took 2 concrete blocks to weight in down, however it fell very slow and straight down.we some times just quikrete the boo in concrete blocks and sink them.
