Swamp cooler test results

Performed the sack ice test today. 20# cubed sack ice lasted a little over 2 hours. A lot of the loose ice melted while cooling down the 2 gallons of water in the cooler. The water is needed for the circulation pumps.

Faults found that have to be addressed:

1. PWM wide open only produces 11.48 volts when battery is 12.35. Can't make it to maximum air flow volume without bypassing PWM circuit. I can't reach "rabbit" speed.

2. two radiators restrict too much air flow the way they are arranged at present. I have the motor sucking and blowing air. Looks like the bilge blower was designed to suck air. Will rearrange radiators locations and see what happens at a later date.

3. The DAP flex latex caulk eroded in the cold water. It is supposed to be waterproof. The caulk was set firm when I started. Nasty mess. Will contact DAP.

4. Styrofoam is cheap and so is my time.

Try Lexel instead of DAP, you'll never go back. If the New Madrid fault ever opens up, we just need to throw some Lexel in there and it'll hold her together.

My problem with air flow restriction is condensation on the radiators. Just have to turn down speed and get more air thru (over time). Going to lake to think about it. Maybe start again Monday or Tuesday.
