Mostly frustrated

I've been fishing for 50+ years and ate some crappie last year for the first time...YUM!!
Any how, I can't seam to find them/catch them in my local waters.
i use jigs, Minnows and soft plastics...yesterday I tried trolling some Arkie crank baits...still a zero.

I fish blowdowns, sticks, points, weed edges...I am at a loss,,,is it supposed to be this hard?

I mainly fish Piedmont Lake in Southeastern Ohio,

This may be the reason : "limited white crappie population" Sounds like you may have to pick another lake :dono

(copied off your DNR website about Piedmont Lake) -- DNR.
- MWCD personnel and the Division of Wildlife have cooperated to produce fish attractors such as Christmas tree piles and felled shoreline trees in the lake. This added structure is excellent for concentrating bluegills, largemouth bass, and a limited white crappie population.

State fisheries biologists might point you to lakes in your area with decent populations of crappie, a resource that just takes one phone call. That's the way it is with crappie, once you've had a bite of them, the quest begins to make them bite. Best of luck on your lake search.

Have you checked out the Ohio board? Those guys seem to be catching plenty of fish.
