The big fish that wasn't!
Last spring I was trolling for trout in my kayak, the lake I was on is long and narrow,( 100 yds wide ). I suppose there were at least 25 boats attempting to troll ,making it very crowded to say the least.
Inevitably boats were gonna cross each other, and lines would tangle with other folks lines. One such boat cut across my bow, forcing me to slow to a drift. After the boater crossed me,he turned along side me,intending to troll on,as I started trolling again, one of his lines engaged my motor prop, thinking he had a bite,he immediately set the hook.
Knowing he was in my prop,I kept turning my motor on and off,and him thinking he had a fish that was peeling drag made for a pretty good comedy act.It wasn't untill he was pulled within a few feet of me,that he realized his great fish was a fat guy in a kayak.
Embarrassed,he snipped his line, and motored off,I saw him loading his boat my next trip around,I guess the big fish that wasn't wore him out!
