Cold water fishing - brrrr!
Last year the water temp dropped to 39 degrees where I fish locally, down from a high of 41. Other than a few small bass, I caught four other species on light jigs in water from 4 - 7', the deeper fish seen directly beneath the boat on the sonar. I can only assume they were suspended and that the slow finesse-lure presentation made all the difference.

Even going down to a 1/32 oz jig head made a big difference in horizontal and vertical presentations using a Slider Worm which is one of the best finesse worms I've used.
I've caught fish in early winter, open water before but never recorded how well I did, the conditions or lures that caught fish and any patterns I found. All told, it was a decent afternoon and better than sitting around waiting for bed time:
