Freezing Batteries
Suppose to get down to 12 degrees Monday. Thought I might better hook up all 3 battery chargers. Seeing it was no big deal figured I'd just disconnect them and bring them inside. I can think of better things to spend $300 on in the spring. Anyone else bring the batteries in during winter?

Where's Catfan when you need him, he knows all this stuff.

I leave mine in the boat.....my MinnKota 330D three bank onboard charger stays plugged up 24/7 except when my boat and trailer are hooked to my truck.
-
A fully charged battery will not freeze until around 76 below 0. An uncharged battery will freeze at 32.

Mine are all plugged in and should be in float mode. We are going to be -10 F - not worried but this makes me think about it

Waste of time and energy to bring them in. But if it makes you feel good........
-
My boat/battery’s stay plugged in a cold barn
-
Another good reason for an on-board charger.

I have taken mine in before if not using the boat for awhile but not sure if it was necessary.:dono
