Hi All,
Looking to getting some feedback on boat seat setups. I am looking at replacing my permanent seats with ones that can be removed. In doing my research, I have come across some of the bases/posts that are smooth and some have a threaded base/post. What are the advantages of each and what would be things to consider about going with one vs the other?

I have the smooth in front with a 5" offset post, and like it very well. It can make for a surprising amount of room.
Threaded post keep them from popping out and takes any wobble out. Some of the slick ones have a tendency to wobble some after they wear in.
My boat has 2 3/8" posts, swivelez 238 series. They are solid as can be and aren't falling out no matter what, but they don't make offset seat post in that size.
Mine are slick are Cray would say, they are wore slap out, and are very loose. They have about 3/16 inch play in them, I am not afraid of them but I am going to have to do something about them before spring.
The threaded seats hold up well and do not give vs the smooth pegged ones.
Anthony, make sure you get one tall/long enough for your long legs and then get a smaller one for the wife. I have both in my boat.
