What color soft plastics do well with the red and pink roadrunner? And the green one?
Just getting into using jigs vs minnows. So not much experience.

I try to use contrasting color plastics, contrasting to the head that is. After that, it's often trial and error. In more stained water I will use darker, say black/chartreuse.
A few days ago I had great responses to all chartreuse (1/16 oz.), both the head and body, which was a Slabalicious tail. All depends on the mood of the fish. All chartreuse or all white for starters....then try partial contrast (electric chicken).....then maybe stark contrast (black & chartreuse). That is part of the fun, trying to see what you can toss to turn them on.
My go to seems to be white head and pink body
the crappie thunder version in the white head pink body white tail is deadly in these parts for LARGE crappie .....just saying
Pink head
Chartreuse and aqua
Chartreuse and white
Chartreuse and black
Works for me.
I won't go to the lake during longline season without dark green flake curly tails, dark blue, black, then combos of those 3 basic colors with lighter 1/2 bodies like pearl, chart, yellow on roadrunner heads. I also use much larger curly tails than most. Many times up to 3 inch.
Mrdux, where do you get 3 inch curly tails?
