Cadence and depth
are everything in the world of crappie fish sometimes . Case in point , the fish were suspended and I got a tip from a person that it had to be moving and about 6 foot deep in 12 foot of water .
Sure enough at about 6 foot down and ever so slowly dragging the jig down the side of some docks and there they were ! All wore down from the spawn and I suspect feeding on fry of some sort up under the dock .
I did find some rather small dead shad floating around and suspect it was immature shad they were eating .
put it 6 foot down and try just vertical jigging and not one single bite ! Cadence was supreme and so was the depth on the latest adventure . Pouring down rain off and on it was and I was all alone , go figure :Rofl
managed about to ketch 15 or so in an hour and missed a few here and there , pretty tricky fish to ketch for sure . released them to go on about what it was they were doing before I so rudely interrupted the peaceful serenity of the rain ....:highfive
