Here's an poll about why we crappie fish. I just thought I'd throw this out there, no real reason, just curious.
Let me know if you have any other good reasons to add to the list and I will try to do so.

Soooo many reasons. When I'm by myself, it's primarily the peace and quiet of finding a little cove or quiet bank to just hang out and enjoy nature - what a great stress reliever it is for me. When I have others with me, it's usually my kids or (soon to be) grandkids - that would be for pawpaw bonding time. :) And of course, that thump of the bite, and the excitement, when you hook into a big one!

I like the challenge of trying to figure them out. They make me look dumb sometimes. Those sunrises and sunsets would be enough on their own.
Need to add. It's an addiction, me against the fish
Everything listed drives me .....I just like to play Ketchn against the crappie .....sometimes they bring it , sometimes I do .....
God made 3/4 of the planet water...that's why I fish, period. He never intended for us to do yard work...:fish
After a 30+ year hiatus from fishing, crappie fishing is where I landed. I got tired of golf! I target two species now, crappie on the lake and trout on the streams. I am fair, at best, on both species. I love the challenge of figuring them out.
Never really thought about it that much but after long consideration I'm not really sure why I do.What I do know is I really do enjoy the pleasure it gives me when I get the opportunity to go and the peace and quite that comes with it. I truly enjoy fishing with my wife , kids and friends but the days I fish alone are awesome times also.
It makes me feel like a kid again...even though I have a big boat with all the bells n whistles it's a more relaxing type of fishing that the wife and I enjoy doing together.

Its a fun change up from prowling for big predators to matching wits with finiky Crappies...I like to flip for Crappies while parked on my favorite Cat hole...Its a blast when the Crappies are banging, and a Cat rod goes off!
