Fall Jungle time ....
I went out very early today from about 7:30 am until about 9:30 am to a small private pond to try for some fall crappie action . Found a few in about 10 to 14 foot of water .They bit very much like bluegill and pecked away at the jig . I dropped a snake river tadpole 1.5 inches long in a chart and green on a 1/24 oz . ballhead number 6 sickle hook under a pinch on thill float set about 8 foot deep .
Even the 4 black bass bit like that and the one fish that really bit good was a small warmouth , kept a few that I invited home for dinner later this week . This spot is not the typical spot for an average angler , it is basically jungle on the edge of a steep slippery shore that has about a foot ledge wide mud shore ....beavers keep it nice and wet and slippery along with the coons .Yes a few spiders and skeeters and such bother you and YES I did fall down one time and landed in a mostly dry spot ....LOL
The grass/moss line is out about 6 to 7 foot off the shore , so after losing one pretty good slab in it , the rest of the fish took flying lessons and landed somewhere behind me in the thick .the first step off the little mud shelf goes to about 5 or 6 foot deep . not for the faint of heart but most certainly a real challenge .....
got home in time for blueberry pancakes and lil smokies .....nice morning for sure ...hope you enjoy the read and photos ....:highfive
