Made me some fish holders today to go after the fall crappie. They aren't the best in the world but will have to do until I can afford some Drift Master T-rod. Attachment 250018Attachment 250019Attachment 250020Attachment 250021Attachment 250023

Sometimes we have to stay within budget to make do ...
Those should do you fine until you can upgrade ...

The fish will taste just like the rest .:highfive
That should work just fine.
A man has to do what a man has to do. I have been using homemade spider rod holders for years now and have not found any reason to buy store bought ones. Good luck and we will be looking forward to seeing your crappie reports and pictures.
I saw a guy that looked like was in his 80s on Enid a couple of years ago with a wooden box in front of his seat that held his poles and everything he needed to fish. He had more fish than anyone we talked to. It's like my Dad used to say about my welding when I was learning." Looks a little rough, but I think it will hold." A man does what he has to sometimes.
The first years we trolled back in the 70s, we just sat on the poles.
Nice DIY project for sure. Nothing wrong wth that at all.

I can remember when everyone on Enid used cane poles to troll with safety pin eyelets:cheers2 .
Thanks guys, hopefully I will have a chance to use them this weekend to try them out and load the boat up. seems like life has been in the way lately I haven't had a chance to do any fishing but this weekend is looking like I might just get that chance.:biggrin
Great Job... Hope you have good success this weekend.
