We went to visit my fathers resting place yesterday , he was a Korean war veteran in the U S Navy :highfive
So after we visit him, about 20 miles down the road we always stop and swim and i typically drop a jig while we visit as well .its a state park thats always crowded this time of year . the water is beautiful and the place is very nice . So even though we past major flooding in many rivers and spots along the way i was pretty sure it would be a nice stop .
We swam a bit and i spanked the local crappie quite well . The "fishing" dock was packed and one little fella was really drooling at the crappie i was rippin so i gave him a plastic tadpole body blue sparkle back and pearl belly and a fixed float and showed him what the deal was . he quickly managed a beautiful bass and 2 crappie and one of the crappie was a nice one :biggrin
and i used a "test" jig a bud tied up for me .....
sure was nice day to go out after the storms passed ....
the crappie were 6 to 9 foot down in about 14 to 16 foot of water on a brush pile ....
seemed like they wanted it drug by them real slowly under a float to me ....
used an old Berkley cherry wood 2 pc. 7 footer and 6 pound test ....
until my next visit here , hope everyone has a great day :ThumbsUp
