Advice for Newbie near Millbrook?

Older guy getting into fishing because I'm bored. Haven't even bought gear and don't own a boat . LOL Any advice for bank fishing around Millbrook? Wife's family has a small pond nearby. Was thinking about Walter Bouldin Dam, Jackson Lake, Cooters Pond, Lake Jordan or the Coosa. I plan on 2 cheap spinning rods one for live bait one for artificial lure. Any help would be appreciated!

Since no one has responded to your thread, PM me and I'll tell you what I know about that area...lived there for 18 years, fished a lot of places there, but mostly from a boat.

Don't know much to help. I would say without boat Jackson Lake. May consider some county lakes with fishing pier.
