Went for run west in the SS Minnow
I called up a good friend that has a passion for ketchn crappie just like me . we had a plan that about went south due to metroplex bridge construction .the traffic when they shut down highways is beyond ugly .Well we said hey this is bad so since i am a bit ahead of you i will go on and wait for you on the water. i got there launched the SS minnow and turned on the graph . and btw its a 688 hd/di .....i finally looked at the numbers...LOL, and she said water temp was 62 ! even though the gulls were having a party out in deep water i ran shallow with her wide open solo for a test before my bud showed up . When he called about 30 minutes later i gave him the bad news . told him i am about done brother ! hooked up EVERY drop and had a cooler full already . it was WAY beyond a good bite . the fish in 7 foot of water were still gorging on shad from the big moon night before . they swallowed the jig over and over ..barfing shad in some cases as well .when he arrived we hit it some more and then went scouting .there were ZERO fish in water deeper than 7 and we went extra shallow at less than 3 feet . Man oh Man was they wanting to play shallow ! we just totally wore em out cast after cast . after 3 hours we called it and chatting at the ramp said "that may have been our best ever trip to that spot" .late in day !2 noon the wind was really kicking ,so we hit a cove that funneled all the waves .they were also stacked in there in 3 foot of water like you cant imagine and feeding beyond compare . EPIC is the 4 letter word that best descibes it ....till my next trip
hope you find em hungry like we did
have a great day :ThumbsUp
