Reelfoot cabin question...

I am looking into buying a cabin (retirement home eventually) on Reelfoot. I am a crappie/bream/catfish/bass fisherman, so Reelfoot makes great sense for me. There was a time that I was an avid waterfowler. I grew up on a Mississippi Delta cotton and soybean farm, so I have had my share of awesome duck hunts. My question is about the duck hunting on Reelfoot. I probably wont get back into it, but both of my adult sons are still ate up with it. I know there are a lot of guides that hunt the Reelfoot area, and I hear reference to "blinds" that have been in families for generations. Is the entire lake open for public hunting? Are parts of the lake "private" and closed to public hunting? Would owning a house with lake frontage give waterfowlers easier access to the hunting grounds?

My dad, grandad, and great grandfather all used to live in the Bootheel of Missouri, and fished reelfoot extensively. Sadly, all three of them are now gone, and so I can't ask them these questions. Any help/advise would be appreciated. This is a big purchase, and if I could convince the family that I was killing two birds with one stone (crappie and ducks) my path would be much easier!

Years ago you could build a blind on reelfoot as long as you were not too close to someone else but now you can't I believe on the 1st Saturday in august they have drawings for public blinds and if you are drawn you pick the blind you want from their list and it is yours for the year and all blinds on reelfoot that are not occupied by shooting time you can hunt if the owner shows after beginning of shooting hours they cannot run you out BUT some people are OK about it the others OWN THE LAKE and it's a bad day the advantage of living on lake is that you can probably find a blind to hunt and if you don't that morning you maybe able to find something later in day if not its not far from the house

Slightly off topic but my family has a very nice lot for sale on Reelfoot. It has riparian rights which means you can build a dock on it as well.
