Purchasing new boat
I live in Pennsylvania but close to route 80 just 25 minutes to the bridge into New Jersey. I am looking for a new boat and lately I have been fishing mainly for crappie and plan to continue fishing mainly for crappie and spending time in New Jersey. From what I can determine, most lakes in New Jersey don't allow for more than 10 HP motors. My question, is there a boat that is more popular than others for crappie fishing in New Jersey? Any help is appreciated.

Well, no help here. Made the decision (wife with me) all by myself. Bought a 2015 Crestliner, 16' Storm. 9.9 power troll Mercury engine, MK 24 volt Terrova with I pilot, Garmin 73DV echo map and Garmin 501C. Dealer putting plates in front for two people to sit for spider rigging. Won't have the boat for a couple weeks as they had to order the Mercury engine. Going to start out at Union Lake in NJ, then switch to Nockamixon in PA, then back to NJ at Spruce Run. Working south to north as the temperatures improve. I purchase the boat from Halls Marine in Muncy Pa. They were extremely nice to work with and they were more than 2,000 less than another dealer. Hope to meet some from this site in my travels. Pop

Congrats on the new boat,I'm sure you will enjoy it a lot.It may be a good idea to visit other state sites on here that has a lot of post,NC,SC,VA.You may can get some helpful ideas on how to set up your boat to be a better crappie catching machine, with rod holders and such.I know the SC board has a thread titled, pictures of you boat,,,that may help.
