Arkansas Crappie Hot Spots

I've been reading and looking on the internet for lakes in Arkansas. I just read that Arkansas has 6 of the top 10 Crappie fishing lakes in the US. I'd say we have premium fishing right here at home.

BTW I'm a new guy to Arkansas and crappie fishing!!\

Now the question is:

If a fellow wants to avoid crowds where in Northern Arkansas would a guy want to go? On top of that if a fellow liked to fish some of the smaller lakes and not the big impoundments where would he go?

Now that my boat is finished I'm ready to do some exploring. In order to keep it fairly close to home I live in Batesville.

Put in the White River at Oil Trough and find some of the back waters. Always had some good fishing over there as a kid fishing with my dad. Village Creek around Newport has some good crappie, and the Bays on the Black, (Portia, Shirey, Horner) they have some good fishing from time to time and its not terribly far. But we're not in the best fishing around these parts.

Be better to ask this on Arkansas boards or through pm to Arkansas members.
