Crappie Nirvana
I've been tearin' up the Crappie pretty good. A little south east of "chaunc", I know he catches pretty good also!, probably a lot more than I do! LOL
The Crappie moved a bit deep with this summer hot water (78 to 80 in the lakes I fish). I spot them with my fish finder in about 20' near the bottom, or suspended 20' in 45' of water.
No slip float, no deep crank baits, just tiny jigs with my brand new St Croix Panfish Series rod. Soft plastics on a tiny jig with thin line ..... that's Nirvana! Just before dark they feed near the top, I even catch them with my 3 wt Fly Rod!
Great fillets (from a clean lake). I'm makin' good use of my Bubba Blade and my Rapala Electric.
The limit in PA is 50. No size limit. I catch that many every time I go out, but only keep 10 to take home and fillet.
The White Perch have invaded most lakes in PA. Check out the top water splashes and the inline spinner:

Thanks! It's so much better to chat about fishing then it is to talk about politics! With politics, I usually end up on the wrong side! LOL

Question: What do you use on your fly rod? I want to catch crappie instead of bluegill on that thing of mine.. although I wouldn't mind a bass...

Must be nice to catch a limit all the time, good for you
