I guess you can look at a couple of ways. 1: Nice to see some reproducing fishing in the lake you are fishing. 2: it ate your bait so obviously it was hungry and trying to put on some weight!
Fish biologist once told me they put on 1 inch about every 30-45 days in the summer time. You might encounter him again in a year or two!

Another treat, went back to the lake i was at last weekend and caught these this morning pulling stick baits
Tried shallow till daylight and went deeper until i found feeding fish, the pike really had their feed bag going
