I want to upgrade trolling racks on my john boat. I'm currently using a home made rack and it works, just not as efficient as I'd like. I'd like to spend no more than $100 a piece. I've been looking at the racks made by high tec stuff and like those, but I'm not set on them yet. Id like for them to be easily removable because my tolling motor is mounted on the front left side of the boat, do if I decide to move locations I need to be able to take the rack off. Any suggestions?
HI-TECH for me I've got 4 three rod holders on my boat and luv'em.
However there are a lot of good ones out there and I'm sure you'll hear the same thing about them.
Good luck finding the ones you like. If possible check some of the boats around the ramp and ask questions about theirs. They might even let you sit behind them and give'em a try.

You need to take a look at SpyderLoks as well, the adjustments are so easy and they can be removed very easy. Gene has designed a great and easy to use product.

I just installed a Hi Tek 4 rod holder on my johnboat,well made & not bulkey,but you half to have a 1/2 wrench to adjust them.
Or buy knobs to take the place of the 1/2" bolts !! I bought these:Quote:

those spyderloc racks sure do look tempting. The transport rack he had sure looks good too. I just broke a rod the other day. Seriously considering his products. They're a little more than I wanted to spend but I think it would be worth it.
I have the Hi Teks as well with the knobs and they are great.
I have Hi-Tek rod racks and rod holders and I really like them both. I like the adjustability of the rod racks and rod holders.
