They are small boxes of aluminum that are welded onto the transom at the water line. Extends transom back a ways and helps stabilize the hull. Lot of time it's done on boats that fish a lot of shallow water. Keeps stern of boat up more level with rest of boat. May also help with side to side roll.
is that what we see on the asian narrow boats ?? would it work on a 1032 boat and how large across the transom??
Not sure on the Asian boats, but it sure could help a small boat. Look up the G3 web site. I think they offer some POD boats. Also think some of the Trackers have them. You would just have to do some figuring for the correct size. Most aren't all that big.
i had a duraceaft extreme that had factory pods on it..it was very stable and safe...it would go into very shallow water...mine was 15 x 7 ft with a 40 yamaha....it was a safe sturdy boat
I'm trying to stabilize a 10 foot jon that's tippy
