It may be cheaper to buy a new reel, unless you have a local place that will repair them. You can get a new one for ~ $30 +s/h * ... and I'd venture to say that most repair shops would charge close to that + shipping (both ways).
What, specifically, seems to be wrong with the reel ?? Some of our members may have these reels, and could guide you through how they corrected similar problems.

Ditto what pappy said. I have always considered the Okuma's disposable.

Thanks, that is what I will do. Reel will not roll up like. acts like the drag is too loose. KS10
Tighten up the star drag on it.
first thing I did. I own about 25 reels, and l have fished all my life. Just don't like pulling line in by hand with a fish on. Easier to buy a new one than fool with it. KS10
OK....I own 8 of those Okumas....been using them for 6 or 7 years now to pull crankbaits with....never had a problem. You must have just got a rare fluke.
That is what I am thinking. I have 8. Fished them for 3 years. No problem. Lots of folks use them. I think I will send this one off since it is under warranty, and then buy two more since you guys told me about Northwoods. Thanks for the help. KS 10
Pull the side plate opposite the reel crank and check to see it there might be some line or other trash in there. Line getting behind the spool is the only issue I have had with mine and I've had the same problem you have with 2 of mine. I took the side plate off and checked the spool. Both had pieces of line wrapped around the shaft that was disengaging the drag.
