NoCal here. Nice fish. I live in Sacramento (Citrus Heights) and I am down to go Crappie Fishing I just don't have a boat or know anyone that wants to go. I went Crappie fishing for 9 days straight when I was in Arkansas last Thanksgiving (2012) and it was a blast. I'm down to go and will pitch in for gas. The best days for me are Saturday's and every other Thursday. Let's discuss further.
Awesome I'll shoot your a message
I know this is an old thread but can't help noticed you holding a white crappie in your right hand. I have never caught a white crappie in Cali. Please direct me cause I would love to catch some. I live in sac.
I just moved up to the Roseville area from south Bay Area, saw on a forum from last year that there is a place called "Sutter Bypass" somewhere up here, anyone heard of this place? The "Tule Finger Site in the West Canal of Sutter Bypass".....Lake Anderson in Morgan Hill used to be loaded with Crappie from the '70s til about 1998. People kept throwing back trophy bass, many with crappies stuck in their throat half digested, and now Crappies have all but vanished. You have to search. And then they are no more that 10-14". Some bigger. I caught some 17" but they have to be that big to survive bass attacks.

Use to hit Anderson - Chesboro - Uvas - Almaden - Guadalupe - Coyote all the time when i was living in San Jose... Good times.
Thanks, Catpaw, you live around Sac now? I saw a 19" Crappie, biggest I've ever seen, caught at Uvas, was over 3 pounds easy. The fish there are far between but huge. I saw one almost as big at Clear Lake in 1973 at State Park, place was Crappie Heaven, not anymore.
I'm out here Los Banos i live 12minutes away from the big dam & there's plenty of place's to fish over here have some huge canals behind our house i really like to fish those alot too
