I will always use um......
cook,
In my opinion crappie nibbles do 2 things.....
- Add scent removing any traces of contamination......
- When you get the bite, they add the extra seconds that you need to set the hook.
To many times I have gotten the thump, only to set the hook and no fish.
I feel that a crappie can strike the jig on instinct, and spit it out before you have time to react, if he doesn't like the taste. With crappie nibbles for me they tend to hold the bait longer, giving me time to set the hook.
I read a lot of post about fish being caught and barely hooked in the edge of the lip. With crappie nibbles, the percentage of hook sets in the deeper part of the mouth goes up. I don't feel that they are as affective of an attractant as folks perceive them to be.
Now this is just my perception of my personal usage of crappie nibbles.
This is in NO way intended to start any kind of huge debate.
Thanks,
Randy
