Hands down it's the 8' Pro Angler for me. It's light, well balanced, very sensitive, and more than enough backbone to swing 2# slabs into the boat. The 10 footer is a good jiggin pole too, but it's a little heavier.
I have a 10 ft pro angler and a 10 ft southern crappie rod, both are nice.
I use an 8' BnM jig rod for that kind of fishing. Light, sensitive, and well balanced with nice backbone. Don't know if it's the best, but I sure like it.
11 or 12 ft Sam Heaton's. No doubt the best..
8,9,10 old Walley Marshals and 11 Sam Heaton. They all work well for me. My 8-9 Wallys will lift one in just like that. The Sam H is lightest of all and more sensitive.
12ft Wally Marshall tight line special. A little heavy but no doubt strong enough for those big slabs. Had a b&m and they just to flimsy.
I have handled a lot of different rods and like the lighter ones that aren't work to hold for a long time. I use 2 BnM bgjp 8' and deep jig down to 30' with braid. I also have 9's, 10's and 12's but the 8's work the best, and the braid makes the sensitivity super good. Best bet is to go to a bass pro shop and handle all the ones you think you may like and take a reel to check the balance. You won't regret it and the education is priceless. The crappie maxx are getting lots of attention and come in actions from ul to mh. They all work well for different tasks.
BnM Sam Heaton 11 or 12 ft.
