How to check if your remote control is working.

I learned an easy way today to check if your remote control is working. Simply select your camera on your phone, point the remote at your phone and push any button, you will see the IR light. (Your eye cannot see the IR light but your camera can.) Also works on a digital camera.

so how did you stumble across that?

I had a remote control for a piece of x-ray equipment that was not working so I googled IR remote testers.

That Google is the smartest thing I know.
