Hello from Kansas City/Overland Park,
My name is Ryan 23 Years old (married 3 kids, 2 Boys 1 Girl), born & raised in Kansas City, Ks. Now live in Overland Park, Ks.
I found this site when searching for a decent Fishing Forum. After checking out the site (and others) for a good core community. This was by far the best option I found. Looking forward to getting to know you all. Also learning from all the wisdom on the forum.
As far as Fishing is concerned. I pretty GREEN, but I absolutly love it. This is the second spring/summer I have Fished. Self-taught, just got a pole did some reading and learning what I can as I go. So far only thing I've Fished for is Catfish, seemed to be the easiest to pick up for me. I've had (what I consider) good success (nothing compared to the "Beasts" some have posted here)nothing huge. I've been fishing WYCO Lake (Kansas City) for Channel Cats. Usually walk away with 3-4, almost always something to bring home and fry up.
Planning on heading to Osawatomie, KS to do some over night River fishing there. Maybe target a few bigger ones. Will post an update on how it went in the Kansas Secton.
All-in-all, I'm really blessed I chose to give Fishing a shot. I never had an interest in it growing up. Now that Im married and have kids, its been a great way to get out relax enjoy yourself. Also has given me quality time with the kids aswell. So I'm looking forward to learning some thing & targeting some other fish types aswell.
