Two jig rig?
I'm new to the forum, but not new to fishing. Here are my question(s).
I fish spinning outfits casting jigs and I would like to know:
1) How many of you fish two jigs at the same time?
and
2) How do you rig them? i.e what type knot tied and what kind of
connection to the main line.
I've fished this type rig for a looooooong time and still haven't found a knot combo I'm totally happy with. I'm now trying a Duncan Loop knot rig that I found in the In-Fisherman mag. It basically a length of line with one jig tied on each end and a duncan loop knot tied with the main line. Will give it a try tomorrow at the spillway at Ross Barnett Reservoir.
The article was on trout fishing and the guy uses this rig to hang a weight off one end and a hook with eggs/worms off the other, I figure it may work for my jigs. I'll let you guys know tomorrow night when I get back.
Thanks for your responses.

Thanks............ I called myself searching and did not find the posts. I use the uni-knot on the bottom jig and palomar on the upper one. But I like to have both jig loose. If this new rig works I'll post a drawning.
Thanks again.

I fish this rig a lot and all I do is tie the first jig on with a palomar then move up about 12-18 inches and tie the other with a palomar. Seems to work pretty well for me.

The dropper loop is said to be the best, I don't know. I just use a overhand knot and run the loop thru 3 times, wet it and slowly pull tight. This site calls it the surgeon's loop, the one I use.

I tell you what............. go to that site and look at the albright knot............ imagine that the red line is a short piece where you tie your jigs, one on each end. And the white line is the main line to the reel. It says do about 10 loops, but 4 or 5 will be sufficient.

This is what I'm going to try today.
Thanks for the site SteveJ!

Hey Bowdenja. Here is a site I found that has a neat knot for what you are doing. I use and found it works well. Check it out.

Hope it helps.

Go to the Louisiana board and watch the vidio Slab Hunter has provided. He's using a four jig rig, but i would think you can apply it to two. Take a lesson from one of the best, neat vidio...izzy

Thanks I'll check it out.
Kept 24 biggest one was 1 3/4 most just 3/4 to 1 pound. Caught way more mostly small, and even smaller. The water was up bout 3 foot over yesterday, I expect fishing to be better tomorrow............ figures can't go.
Knot seemed to work great........... only tedious to tie in a hurry. I did catch more than most so maybe it worked, could not have been the fisherman must have been the knot;)
Maybe I'll tie up some short line with jigs pre-tied and see how that goes.
Thanks Guys for the posts.
