Shallow water anchor
Here's the deal I have a 14ft flat bottom not enough to buy a talon or a power pole has anyone made a manual shallow water anchor I have an extra bow trolling motor mount laying around I was thinking of putting a piece of PVC in it so it will slide down and then just store like a tm anyone got any idea or have a manual system they use that won't cost an arm and a leg

Like that except alot cheaper and more redneck that's why im trim to think of a way to put it in that extra tm mount

The thing is I cant figure out if I wanna use PVC so there is a little give and won't come loose of the bottom or something metal so there is no give

Here is a link to fiber glass rods. Available in 1/2 inch or larger, length 5 feet or 10 foot. Would recommend covering rods with something to protect from splinters. A length of pipe insulation works for a handle cover and flotation.

For metal you could look up some construction sites and search REBAR material.

I think you will want something flexible like the fiberglass or PVC to take some of the shock from waves. It would be lighter as well.
