24 volt question
Just installed 24 volt trolling motor and have a question on the wiring.I have a 12-24 marinco plug up front and two positive and negative cabels going to the batteries from the plug. How do I need to connect the batteries to the cabels. Not sure if I need to connect both positives to battery#1 and both negatives to battery#2 and run jumper from battery#1 negative post to battery#2 positive post or does the marinco recipticle cross them automatically?

I believe with that plug, just connect the cables as you normally would (pos/neg one set to each battery). If you wanted to use just one set of cables you would connect a jumper from batt #1 neg to batt #2 pos while connecting one pos to batt #1 pos and one neg to batt #2 neg.

You will just use 2 of the 4 wires running up to your plug , hook 1 wire to pos. on first battery ,hook 1 wire to neg. on second battery and a jumper connecting the two ,positive post to negitive post . I diconnected the 2 wires from the plug not being used and used the lugs on the plug with the wires being used to hook the eyelets from the trolling motor to .

Mopar Matt shows how i have mine hooked up. And I undo the crossover jumper on the hot batter post. When I hook the charger up.
Don't know If I have to do that. But I charge each batter by its self.

That is the way mne is rigged and I also disconnect the jumper when charging.
