Boat Insurance
I need some input on Boat insurance. Mine is up for renew and I am not happy with the coverage. Here is why I messed the motor up on my trolling motor so I checked about coverage on it I thought I had 100.00 deductible on my accessories. It is 500.00 with a 700.00 limit so if i replaced it a 600.00 Tmotor I am covered a hole 100.00. Just got in mail a letter from Boat US anyone know about their track record. And how they pay. Or any other company you use would be helpful. I had boats 30 yrs never used my insurance and when i need it find out it is not what I expected. Cub48

Allstate has never given me a problem. They are reasonable, and you can insure for any amount of money YOU think your rig is worth. When I had my lower unit replaced, they never even sent an adjuster out, I just sent them a fax, and my check was in the mail. I don't have a high dollar rig, but for about 140 a year, I have 5000 worth of coverage.

I have a Traveler's total package, house, cars, boat, camper, etc...The boat insurance is the only policy that I think I could improve on..
My friend in Texas has collected twice (big dollars) from Progressive...So far, no premium increase...I will look at Progressive next February.

I have Farm Bureau and they have by far the best price here in KY. I itemize each accessory I put on it and keep the list up to date. Make sure you cross check your policy serial numbers with your actual numbers. I had a major mistake on my written policy statement and took a couple of trips to my agent to correct. The mistake was from their headquarters.
I'm sure you can get a lower deductible on most policies, it's just going to cost you more premium for a lower deductible. I personally have a $250 deductible and would never turn in a claim for anything that is just over my deductible. A few hundred, probably. One hundred, no way.
