Me and my father was fishing at douglas dam and there are some foot long shad biting up there and out of no where i hooked a huge 2 foot one and brought it in why are they going crazy and how long does it last?

Sounds like they are trying to get upriver to spawn and the dam is blocking em.
I'd like to see a 2 foot long Shad. I've never seen one even 12" long!! :eek:
Could these be Skipjack Herring? :confused:
