Ah, White bass!

It has been over 10 years since I fished for them. My daughter has done the college thing in Washington. So I had to resort to fishing for flounder and Dungeness crab. Oh poor me. We will return to New Mexico this year and I will get back to fishing for Whites at the Butte. My prefered method is to vertical jig with a 3/4 or 1o/z slab with a 2/0 siwash hook, I do not like trebels. I use 15# big game, 7' Ugly stick MH and 6500C3 reels. It might seem like over kill but the state record Striper is 54# . Years ago a friend hooked something that stripped his reel of all its 20# line. I wonder what it was?
