In memory of my father.
In loving memory of my Father, John Moes.
I finally found the courage to post this. He passed away 2 weeks ago after a battle recovering from his second broken hip. He never made it home. His suffering is over, may he rest in peace. He is in a better place now.
He bought me my first Zebco 202. I'm not 100% sure, but I think the one I still have in my basement is that very same one he bought me. He took us perch fishing off the Montrose Harbor Pier on Lake Michigan in Chicago when we were so young I can barely remember. He wasn't real big on fishing, but he did fish, and more than that, he loved to take my brother and I fishing when he had the opportunity. He will be missed.
At my Aunts house on Kentucky Lake.

Ed, you are not alone. God's grace and mercy and the thousands of family here on this forum are here to comfort you and your family. My dad passed away Christmas seven years ago. I know and share your pain because I have walked in your shoes. Hold on to the wonderful memories he left you and find your comfort in the scriptures. He is in the land of "No more.". No more pain. No more worries. No more crying. No more broken fishing knots. No more worries. He raised a fine son in you. Trust God. He will help you through this.

Ed sorry to hear about your loss and thanks to ship for pointing it out to me. I lost my Dad 5 years ago and I know that empty feeling that follows. May he rest eternally and may the peace of the Lord be with you and your family. Although he is gone from site the memories will linger forever.
Blessings,

Philippians 1:20-23
20According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death.
21For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.
22But if I live in the flesh, this is the fruit of my labour: yet what I shall choose I wot not.
23For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better:
