Don't know of any "lakes", but the Alabama River is supposed to be real good for crappie. I would like to know of some good areas to target on the River myself. We will be there March 10-11. Launching from Gunter Hill. I have always heard about "Cooter's Pond", but know nothing about it.
Lake Jordan or Lake Mitchell are not far from Montgomery.
You can get some GPS coordinates of Christmas trees put in the lakes for fish habitat.

Prarrie Creek is a good place.. Corp of Engineer park... I have caught alot of slabs there.
Tell us a little about Prairre Creek, want to start camping there.
Prarrie Creek is a good place to camp. They have new bathrooms and a few of the sites have walk out piers that make it really nice. A couple of the campsite have real nice decks built also. Good place.
