I have used both the one's u attach to rod and I now have the reels you are looking at. for the price difference I think the complete reel is the way to go, now others may find that to be different in their situation. lot of people on here have the reel you are looking at and most seem to like it (or I believe they do), after doing some reading on here I did find that the line has to be up to with in 1/8 inch of being completely full to be most accurate. Many folks spool with cheaper line and then finish off with the best choice of line so that it doesnt take so much to fill the reel up. Here is the link that was given to me by a few of the members that have bought :

X2, what he said.
They are worth the 25-28 dollars you pay for them.
Get the Okuma line counter reels.....they do a good job.
For the money, can't beat the Okuma's.
good reals i own 8 of them
Hey thanks Maachuu, looks like I will be ordering the 15dx. Thanks to everyone, its nice to know what to expect before ordering something.
light line can work its way behind the side plates, if you don't pay attention. For the price, they work well and I will be considering buying more of them when I wear some of my current reels out. The clip-ons work well too, just be sure to buy the ones that you can manual adjust (screws on the back plate) as they will eventually start to slip.
